300 Follower Giveaway: Win a Picture Book!

I am excited, honored, and amazed to have finally reached this milestone: 300 followers! After two years of blogging...wow! Thank you everyone for stopping by when you find the time. Thank you for your comments, camaraderie, and support.

To celebrate this special day, I'd like to give away a picture book: Big Chickens Go to Town by Leslie Helakoski, illustrated by Henry Cole (a way-awesome illustrator). I'm sure you'll love it! It is chock full of the power of threes and repetition. If you haven't heard of this WAY-awesome writer, this book is the third book in her series of "Big Chickens" books. The first is Big Chickens; the sequel is Big Chickens Fly the Coop. So I'm kind of stuck on threes right now. Here are some 300 equivalents:

  1. 300 seconds = 5 minutes
  2. 300 minutes = 5 hours
  3. 300 hours = 12.5 days
All you have to do is leave a comment (by 3:00 PM EST on Thursday 2-23-12) about what writing thing you would do if you had 300 seconds, minutes, or hours to work on and/or accomplish it. If I had 300 hours, I would write my next book, or two, or three... If I had 300 minutes, I would write my blog posts for the next couple of weeks. If I had 300 seconds, I would either finish this blog post or read a picture book. If I had $300, I'd buy lots of books! (Or put it aside for my next SCBWI conference.)

Okay, your turn...

If I had 300 seconds, I would doodle the mc of my next picture book. If I had 300 dollars, I would feel less guilty about the money I spent on a laptop to write manuscripts.

  12. Congratulations, Christie! And thanks for the fun competition!

I'd spend my 300 hours as follows:

The first 300 seconds doing a happy dance and boosting the flow of oxygen to my brain.

300 minutes generating new PB ideas

and the remainder of the 300 hours writing PB texts---with a few naps thrown in.

As to the 300 dollars, I'd spend it on a dehydrator to help me eat healthier and have more energy. So in the long run, it would actually help my writing also.

What a luxury it would be!

    1. I like how you put the seconds first, then the minutes, and then the remainder of the hours. Cool. Happy dances are fun. And so are naps.

  13. 300 hours would give me the time to write some of my books, plan and write some blog posts ahead of time for my many blogs and maybe even catch up on all of the sleep I am missing lately in order to have time to write. :)
